Building inspection: not just a technical step
The building inspection is a legally relevant process in which the client confirms that the contractually agreed construction work has been performed in accordance with the contract. Among other things, the inspection marks the start of the limitation period for claims for defects in accordance with Section 634a of the German Civil Code (BGB), and the burden of proof for any defects is reversed in favor of the contractor.
Statistical surveys show that around 35% of all construction defects or damage occur at the time of acceptance or within the first year after completion. This highlights the need for careful and systematic inspection of the construction work immediately prior to acceptance.
Support during building inspection – Technical on-site appointment with the building expert
Our certified building expert inspects the construction work on site for visible defects and workmanship errors. Any deviations from the contractual services and the recognized rules of technology are professionally documented.
Upon request, these will be documented and classified according to technical criteria. This report can serve as the basis for a formal notice of defects and for enforcing any claims for rectification.
Experience shows that numerous defects remain undetected by laypersons. Expert support during acceptance can significantly reduce consequential damage, cost risks, and disputes with contractors.
